Having professional makeup done can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be! Here's the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. If there's anything that isn't covered here, please don't hesitate to reach out to me!
I don't know what kind of makeup I want. Can you help me?
It's my job to look at your natural features and determine the best way to enhance them. I ask a lot of questions that, based on your answers, help me determine the makeup that's going to best reflect you and your personality. I also encourage clients to bring inspiration photos so we can go over what you like about the makeup.
How long does a makeup application take?
A full makeup application usually takes about 45-60 minutes. More dramatic looks may take a bit longer.
Should I do anything to prepare for the day of my event?
It’s best not to try anything new the week of your event in case your skin has any unexpected reactions. I recommend booking all your waxing, tanning, facials and major skincare appointments at least 1-2 weeks prior to the event date. Come to the appointment with a makeup free, cleansed face. It's also a good idea to wear something that zips up, or is easily removed over the head without rubbing on your face.
Do I need to buy any makeup products or bring anything to my appointment?
I provide all the makeup for my services. I do recommend having and/or purchasing a lipstick and/or gloss to touch up with later.
Can you use my makeup for application?
To ensure proper safety and sanitation, I will only use products that are in my kit.
Is a trial run required?
No, a trial run isn’t required however depending on the event, it is a great way to try all ideas you may have for your makeup. This is a much more relaxed setting and also ensures that the day of the event will go quickly and smoothly.
How long does a trial take?
Usually about 60-90 minutes. This is the time we can really go over the details, and try different things. Again, it varies depending on if its a natural or dramatic look.
How long does the makeup last?
When makeup is applied properly with primers, eyeshadow bases, and setting powders the makeup shouldn’t move. Many of the products in my kit are long wearing products which also helps in the longevity of your makeup. The only thing you will have to touch up would be your lipstick/gloss or possibly powder if you have oily skin.
